FARMERS AND FOODIES EAT A ROYAL FEAST
C-ville Weekly(6/11/08)
"Last night, at the Toliver House restaurant in charming Gordonsville, about 50 people gathered to celebrate the bounty of food and drink that's locally produced. The Piedmont Environmental Council (PEC) sponsored the four-course dinner, but attention fell mostly on the farmers (and distillers, winemakers and ice-cream producers) in attendance, and the food they'd created."

The Hook (04/03/2008)
In a front page story in the Washington Post last week, gourmet burrito chain Chipotle Mexican Grill, with 700 stores nationwide, announced plans to begin using locally raised pork. "We hope it will inspire other local restaurants and chains, to show them what's possible."
LOCAL FOOD CAMPAIGN LOOKS TO CULPEPER
Culpeper Times (03/14/2008)
Sometimes people prefer knowing where their food comes from. Would you prefer food shipped from a farm 1,500 miles away? Or food from a local farmer within driving distance? One campaign has been helping consumers make the local choice. For a year now, the Buy Fresh, Buy Local campaign has linked farmers in the Charlottesville and Albemarle region directly to the consumers who want their fresh foods – no supermarkets allowed.
